Who We Are Looking For:
FURSA MBELE is looking for responsible, positive, and committed volunteers who believe in the power of young people. We welcome applications from young professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, creatives, community leaders, graduates, specialists, and individuals from all backgrounds who have skills, experience, and time to share. You do not need to be a professional teacher or counsellor to become a mentor. What matters most is your ability to listen with empathy, communicate respectfully, maintain appropriate boundaries, and show up consistently as a positive role model. If you have a genuine passion for youth development and want to help students build confidence, find their voice, and discover future pathways — we want you on our mentor team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate Mentorship: Deliver monthly group sessions in partner schools using the approved FURSA MBELE curriculum.
2. Deliver Core Pillars: Run practical, activity-based sessions on confidence & wellbeing (MIND), communication (VOICE), peacebuilding (AMANI), climate action (MAZINGIRA), career pathways (MWELEKEO), and leadership.
3. Support Career Exposure: Help organize and support “Meet Someone Who Does It” sessions, connecting students to TVET, university, entrepreneurship, and employment journeys.
4. Guide Action Projects: Support students to design and implement small school and community action projects.
5. Track & Report: Take attendance and provide brief session feedback and learning notes after every session.
6. Be a Role Model: Model Fursa values — Respect, Integrity, Inclusion, Empathy, Accountability, Hope, and Safety.
Application Deadline: 27th November, 2026
